How-to Guide

1. Lock a view from the view menu

Entry path: Left view list → More options next to the target view → Lock View

  1. Open the target multidimensional table.
  2. In the left data table area, find the table and view that you want to manage.
  3. Click the ... button next to the target view.
  4. In the pop-up menu, turn on Lock View.
  5. When the switch is on and a lock icon appears next to the view name, the view is locked.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: A lock icon appears next to the view name.
  • What you can do next: You can still view and edit table data.
  • No unwanted change: Filters, sorting, grouping, field visibility, row height, and similar view settings are kept in place.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: Lock View protects the view configuration, not the data editing permission of the whole table.
  • Permission note: When advanced permissions are not enabled, users with table editing permission can change this setting.
  • Environment note: In collaboration scenarios, a stable network helps the lock state sync in time.

2. Unlock a view

Entry path: Left view list → More options next to the locked view → Lock View

  1. In the left view list, find the locked view.
  2. Click the ... button next to that view.
  3. In the pop-up menu, turn off Lock View.
  4. When the switch is off and the lock icon disappears, the view configuration becomes editable again.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The lock icon next to the view name disappears.
  • What you can do next: You can adjust filters, sorting, grouping, field visibility, row height, and related settings again.
  • No unwanted change: Existing table data is not deleted when you unlock the view.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: After unlocking, any change to the view configuration may affect later viewing results, so confirm the need first.
  • Permission note: When advanced permissions are enabled, users usually need view editing permission or table management permission.
