Instructions
1. Add grouping
Entry path: Bottom toolbar → Tools → Group → Add grouping condition
- Open the data table and tap Tools on the bottom toolbar.
- Select Group.
- Tap Add grouping condition.
- Choose the field you want to use for grouping.
- Tap Confirm to apply the grouping.
Expected result
- The table is grouped by the selected field.
- You can continue to expand groups, review records, or add another grouping condition.
- The original record content is unchanged.
Notes
- If you are not in a data table view, the grouping entry may not appear.
- Make sure the current Android view supports grouping.
2. Set grouping order
Entry path: Bottom toolbar → Tools → Group → Add grouping condition
- Open the Add grouping condition screen.
- Select the target field.
- Choose Option order or Reverse option order as the sort rule.
- Tap Confirm to apply the grouping and order.
Expected result
- Groups are displayed in the selected order.
- You can continue adjusting other grouping conditions.
- Only the display order changes; record content is not affected.
Notes
- If you choose a field but do not pay attention to the sort rule, the result may not match your preferred order.
- It is usually easier to set the order while adding the grouping condition.
3. Add multiple grouping conditions
Entry path: Bottom toolbar → Tools → Group → Add grouping condition
- Add the first grouping condition.
- Tap Add grouping condition again.
- Select a second field and choose its sort rule.
- Tap Confirm to save it.
- Repeat these steps if you need more grouping levels.
Expected result
- The data table shows a layered grouping structure.
- You can expand each level or remove a specific grouping condition later.
- The current view is reorganized without changing the original records.
Notes
- Too many grouping conditions can make the hierarchy longer to review on a phone screen.
- Layered grouping is easier to review when field values are clear and categories are consistent.
4. Remove grouping
Entry path: Bottom toolbar → Tools → Group → Delete
- Open the data table and tap Tools.
- Select Group.
- Find the grouping condition you want to remove.
- Tap Delete next to that grouping condition.
Expected result
- The selected grouping condition is removed.
- The table returns to fewer grouping levels or a simpler view.
- Removing grouping does not delete records or change the original data content.
Notes
- Deleting a grouping condition is different from deleting a record.
- In a shared table, the grouped display can be visible to collaborators.
