1. Create a numbering field

Entry: Click the + button on the right side of the header row, then choose the Numbering field type.

  1. In the data table, click the Add Field button on the right side of the header row.
  2. In the field type list, select Numbering.
  3. Enter a field name.
  4. Click Confirm to create the field.
  5. A new numbering field column appears in the table.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: A new numbering field column appears in the table.
  • Next action available: You can open field settings and continue adjusting the numbering type.

Tips While Using

  • Use a field name that matches the business meaning so later filtering and grouping are easier.
  • If you need to change the rule later, open field settings again.

2. Set the numbering type

Entry: Right-click the field, open Field Settings, and use the Numbering Type menu.

  1. Right-click the numbering field you created.
  2. Select Field Settings.
  3. Open the Numbering Type drop-down menu in the settings panel.
  4. Choose Incremental Numbers or Custom Concatenation as needed.
  5. Confirm and save the setting.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The selected numbering type is shown in field settings.
  • Next action available: New records can follow the selected numbering rule.

Tips While Using

  • Incremental Numbers works well for continuous serial numbering.
  • Custom Concatenation works well when business codes need characters or date information.
