1. Create a numbering field
Entry: Click the + button on the right side of the header row, then choose the Numbering field type.
- In the data table, click the Add Field button on the right side of the header row.
- In the field type list, select Numbering.
- Enter a field name.
- Click Confirm to create the field.
- A new numbering field column appears in the table.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: A new numbering field column appears in the table.
- Next action available: You can open field settings and continue adjusting the numbering type.
Tips While Using
- Use a field name that matches the business meaning so later filtering and grouping are easier.
- If you need to change the rule later, open field settings again.
2. Set the numbering type
Entry: Right-click the field, open Field Settings, and use the Numbering Type menu.
- Right-click the numbering field you created.
- Select Field Settings.
- Open the Numbering Type drop-down menu in the settings panel.
- Choose Incremental Numbers or Custom Concatenation as needed.
- Confirm and save the setting.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The selected numbering type is shown in field settings.
- Next action available: New records can follow the selected numbering rule.
Tips While Using
- Incremental Numbers works well for continuous serial numbering.
- Custom Concatenation works well when business codes need characters or date information.
