FAQ

What is the difference between a contact field and a collaborator field?

  1. A contact field is mainly used to mark related people in a record and can serve as a target for notifications or workflow references.
  2. A collaborator field is more focused on document collaboration permissions, and added people may directly receive viewing or editing access.
  3. If your goal is to record owners or notification targets, use a contact field first. If you need to assign collaboration permissions directly, choose a collaborator field based on the scenario.

Will notifications still be sent after I remove a contact?

  1. If a notification flow depends on the current value in the contact field, removing that contact usually stops later notifications from being sent to that person.
  2. Check whether any automation or notification rule still references the field.
  3. If needed, add the contact again and confirm the related workflow settings.

Can a contact field store multiple people in one cell?

  1. Yes.
  2. After you click the target cell, you can continue searching for and adding multiple contacts.
  3. Multiple contacts appear in the same cell, which makes it easier to manage participants together.
