This FAQ covers 4 common questions about scope, field display, drag behavior, and collaboration sync, plus a short glossary for board-related terms.
FAQ
Does card management only work in board view?
- Card management is mainly used to adjust how cards appear in a board.
- The related guidance also notes that card management can be used in gallery-style views, but the layout differs by view.
- If you are not in a supported card-based view, switch to a relevant view first and then continue.
Can I customize which fields appear on a card?
- Open Tools and then Card Management.
- Use Add Field to add fields you want to display, or use Edit to change field names and types.
- Then combine Hide and drag-based reordering to decide which fields appear on the card and in what order.
Why does the status change when I drag a card?
- Cards in a board are usually arranged by a grouping field.
- When you drag a card into another group column, the related grouping field value is updated at the same time.
- If you only want to change card content display, use card management settings instead of moving the card between columns.
Will my card settings affect other collaborators?
- Yes. Card settings are shared settings.
- When you reorder or hide fields, collaborators see the updated card layout as well.
- In team scenarios, it is helpful to agree on a shared display rule before making broad changes.
