1. Create a Dashboard

Entry: Insert tab → Dashboard

  1. Click Dashboard on the Insert tab.
  2. Wait for WPS to create a dashboard worksheet automatically.
  3. In the new dashboard page, click Add Component.
  4. Select the data source and connect it to an existing worksheet.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: A new dashboard worksheet appears in the current file.
  • Next action available: You can continue adding components and selecting data sources.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If no data worksheet is prepared first, later component setup may not have usable source data.
  • Environment note: Check that the original data fields are complete before building summaries.

2. Add Data Components

Entry: Dashboard editing view → Add Component

  1. Click Add Component and choose the chart type or statistic card type you need.
  2. Configure the data source by selecting the related worksheet and fields.
  3. Set the aggregation method, such as count, sum, or average.
  4. Drag to adjust the component size and position to finish the layout.

  • Interface result: A new component appears in the dashboard and shows the related data.
  • Next action available: You can add more components or adjust the current layout.

3. Show or Hide the Dashboard Title

Entry: Dashboard editing view → Title

  1. In the dashboard editing view, click Title.
  2. Switch the title display on or off based on your current layout needs.
  3. Click a blank area of the dashboard to review the current display effect.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The dashboard title is shown or hidden according to the current setting.
  • Next action available: You can continue editing other components or adjusting the page layout.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If you do not click a blank area after switching the setting, the full page effect may be harder to judge immediately.

4. Edit Data Components

Entry: The ... icon in the upper-right corner of a component

  1. Click an existing component.
  2. Click the ... icon in the upper-right corner of the component to open the menu.
  3. Select Configure to reset the data source, style, or text format.
  4. Select Duplicate if you want to reuse the component.
  5. Select Copy as Image or Export as Image if you want image output.
  6. Select Delete if you no longer need the component.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The component is updated, duplicated, exported, or deleted based on the selected action.
  • Next action available: You can continue editing other components or adjust the dashboard layout again.

  • Common mistake: Deleting a component before confirming its content may require rebuilding it later.
