Why can’t I see the + or - control after grouping?

  1. Confirm that you successfully grouped consecutive rows or columns.
  2. Make sure the current worksheet is still editable.
  3. Select the target range again and repeat the grouping action from the Data tab.

Can I create multiple grouping levels?

  1. Yes. Start by creating an outer group for a larger consecutive range.
  2. Then select a smaller range inside that area and create another group.
  3. Use different + and - controls to expand or collapse each level.

Does grouping affect formulas in cells?

  1. Grouping mainly changes the display structure and viewing method.
  2. Collapsing or expanding a group does not directly change the formula content in cells.
  3. If needed, compare the formula results before and after grouping to confirm the worksheet behavior.

How do I return to a normal worksheet without groups?

  1. Select the grouped rows or columns.
  2. Go to DataGroup.
  3. Choose the option to ungroup or remove the current grouping structure.
