How-to Guide
1. Set a Column Type
Entry: Right-click a column header → Column Type → Select a type
- Right-click the target column header in the table, or click the ... button on the right side of the column header.
- Find Column Type at the top of the menu and move the pointer over it.
- In the submenu, select the type you want, such as dropdown list, date, checkbox, progress, time, cell image, email, or URL.
- The selected type takes effect immediately for the current column.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The selected type is applied to the current column from the Column Type submenu.
- Next action available: You can continue entering data that matches the selected type.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If you do not target the correct column header, the type may be applied to the wrong column.
- Environment note: This feature is used in smart table column management scenarios.
2. Set the Starting Row
Entry: Right-click a column header → Column Type → Set starting row
- Apply any column type to the target column first.
- Open the Column Type submenu again and find the Set starting row input box in the upper-right area.
- The default value is usually 2, which means the type starts from row 2 and row 1 stays as the header row.
- Enter a new starting row number based on your table structure. The change takes effect immediately.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The column type applies only from the row you set.
- Next action available: Header rows or note rows can stay unchanged while the data area continues to use the selected column type.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: Setting the starting row too small may affect header rows.
- Environment note: It is easier to adjust this setting after a column type has already been applied.
3. Clear a Column Type
Entry: Right-click a column header → Column Type → Clear
- Right-click the column header that you want to return to plain text, or click the ... button on the right side of the column header.
- Open the Column Type submenu.
- Click Clear at the bottom of the submenu.
- The current column returns to a plain text column and existing data is kept.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The current column no longer uses the previous type for display or validation.
- Next action available: You can continue entering content as plain text.
- No side effect: Existing data is not deleted.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: Clearing a column type removes the type restriction only; it does not clear existing content automatically.
