1. Create a Single Choice Field

Entry point: Click the + button on the right side of the header, then choose Single Choice

  1. Click the + button on the right side of the table header.
  2. In the field type list, select Single Choice.
  3. Enter the field name.
  4. Click OK to finish creating the field.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: A new single choice field column appears in the data table.
  • Next action available: You can open field settings and continue maintaining the option list.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: Closing the window before confirming the field name may leave the field uncreated.
  • Environment note: You need to work in an editable data table.

2. Add and Edit Options

Entry point: Right-click the field title, choose Field Settings, then go to the option list area

  1. Right-click the single choice field title and select Field Settings.
  2. In the option list area, click + Add Option to add a new option.
  3. The table assigns different display colors to different options automatically.
  4. Click the square button before an option to change its display color.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: New or updated options appear in the option list.
  • Next action available: The latest option text and colors are visible when you open the cell dropdown.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: Typing directly in a cell does not replace option maintenance in field settings.

3. Batch Edit Options

Entry point: Right-click the field title, choose Field Settings, then click Batch Edit

  1. Right-click the single choice field title and select Field Settings.
  2. Click the Batch Edit button in the option list.
  3. Enter one option per line in the text box, or paste multiple lines directly.
  4. Click OK to save the generated options.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: Multiple new options are created in one action.
  • Next action available: You can continue adjusting colors or removing options later.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If multiple options are entered on the same line, they are treated as one item.

4. Allow Adding Options While Filling

Entry point: Right-click the field title, choose Field Settings, then turn on Allow adding options while filling

  1. Right-click the single choice field title and select Field Settings.
  2. Turn on Allow adding options while filling.
  3. When entering a record, if the content is not in the preset list, add it as a new option.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: New content can be added directly to the option list during entry.
  • Next action available: After the new content is added, later records can select it again.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If the switch is off, new content cannot be added directly to the option list.

5. Set a Default Value

Entry point: Right-click the field title, choose Field Settings, then use the Default Value option

  1. Right-click the single choice field title and select Field Settings.
  2. In the Default Value dropdown, choose one option.
  3. Save the setting. New records will then auto-fill that option.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: New records show the preset option automatically in this field.
  • Next action available: You can still change it manually when needed.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If the default value has not been created in the option list first, it cannot be selected directly.
