How-to Guide
1. Create a Multiple Choice Field
Entry: Click the + button on the right side of the header, then choose Multiple Choice.
- Click the + button on the right side of the header.
- Select Multiple Choice from the field type list.
- Enter the field name.
- Click OK to finish.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: A new multiple choice field column appears in the data sheet.
- Next action available: You can open field settings and continue adding options.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If you close the window before confirming the field name, the field is not created.
2. Add and Edit Options
Entry: Right-click the field title, then open Field Settings and go to the option list area.
- Right-click the multiple choice field title and select Field Settings.
- Click + Add Option in the option list area.
- Click the square color button in front of an option to change its display color.
- Continue adjusting option names and colors for your category setup.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The option list shows the new or updated options.
- Next action available: You can select these options directly in cells.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If colors are too similar, later tag recognition becomes less clear.
3. Bulk Edit Options
Entry: Right-click the field title, open Field Settings, then click Bulk Edit.
- Right-click the multiple choice field title and select Field Settings.
- Click Bulk Edit in the option list.
- Enter one option name per line, or paste an existing list.
- Click OK to save the generated options.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: Multiple new options appear in the option list at once.
- Next action available: You can select the generated options in cells right away.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If several options are entered on one line, they are treated as one option name.
4. Allow New Options During Entry
Entry: Right-click the field title, open Field Settings, and turn on Allow adding options during entry.
- Right-click the multiple choice field title and select Field Settings.
- Turn on Allow adding options during entry.
- Enter content that is not yet in the current option list while filling in data.
- Add that content as a reusable option.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The newly entered content can be added to the option list.
- Next action available: Later records can reuse the new option.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If the switch is off, newly entered content is not added to the option list automatically.
