How-to Guide
1. Set a grouping field
Entry path: Toolbar → Group → Add Condition
- Open the target data table.
- Click the Group button on the toolbar.
- Click Add Condition.
- Select the field you want to use for grouping.
- Confirm the selection. The table records are then grouped automatically by that field value.
Success Criteria
- On-screen result: Group headers appear in the data table based on field values.
- What you can do next: Review records inside each group or add another grouping condition.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: Choosing a field that is not useful for categorization can create too many scattered groups.
- Environment note: The data table needs existing fields that can be used for grouping.
2. Add nested grouping
Entry path: Toolbar → Group → Add Condition
- After creating the first grouping, click Add Condition again.
- Select a second field for grouping.
- Continue adding more fields if needed.
- The table creates nested grouping levels in the order the fields were added.
Success Criteria
- On-screen result: Sub-groups appear under the main group.
- What you can do next: Expand a group level to review more detailed record categories.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: An unsuitable field order can make the grouping hierarchy harder to read.
- Environment note: More fields create deeper grouping levels, so it is helpful to add fields in a practical review order.
3. Expand or collapse all groups
Entry path: Toolbar → Group → Expand/Collapse All
- After setting one or more grouping conditions, click Expand/Collapse All.
- Choose to expand all groups to review all record details.
- Choose to collapse all groups to return to a category overview.
Success Criteria
- On-screen result: All groups expand or collapse together.
- What you can do next: Switch quickly between overview and detail views.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: Thinking collapsed records are gone. They are only hidden under the group.
4. Remove data grouping
Entry path: Toolbar → Group
- Click the Group button on the toolbar.
- Find the current grouping conditions in the grouping panel.
- Delete the grouping condition you no longer need.
- The data table returns to a flat ungrouped view.
Success Criteria
- On-screen result: Group headers disappear and records return to a regular list view.
- What you can do next: Set a new grouping condition or continue editing the data.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: Removing grouping does not delete records. It only restores the display layout.
