  1. Click the + button on the right side of the table header.
  2. In the field type list, select Date.
  3. Enter a field name.
  4. Click OK to finish creating the field.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: A new Date field column appears in the data table.
  • What you can do next: You can open field settings and continue adjusting the date format or default value.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If you do not choose Date in the field type list, a different field type may be created.
  • Environment note: You need permission to edit fields in the current data table.

2. Set the Date Format

Entry: Right-click the field title → Field Settings → date format area

  1. Right-click the Date field title.
  2. Select Field Settings.
  3. In the date format area, enable Show weekday if needed.
  4. Enable Show time if you want the field to store hour and minute details together with the date.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The Date field displays the selected format, such as weekday or time.
  • What you can do next: Future date entries follow the current display format.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: Editing only a cell value does not change the display style for the whole field.
  • Environment note: The display setting applies to records in that field column.

3. Set a Default Value

Entry: Right-click the field title → Field SettingsDefault Value

  1. Right-click the Date field title.
  2. Select Field Settings.
  3. Find the Default Value option.
  4. Choose None, Specified date, or The date this record is added, depending on your needs.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: New records either stay blank or fill automatically based on the selected default rule.
  • What you can do next: Add a new record to confirm that the default value works as expected.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If a fixed date stays selected for too long, later records may keep using the same date.
  • Environment note: Default values are mainly useful for new records, so existing records may still need review.

4. Enter a Date

Entry: Target cell → date picker

  1. Click the target date cell.
  2. In the date picker, select the date you want.
  3. If time display is enabled, continue setting the hour and minute with the time slider or input box.
  4. Confirm the entered result.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The cell shows the selected date, and time appears as well when time display is enabled.
  • What you can do next: You can continue editing other fields in the same record.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If Show time is not enabled, only the date is stored and displayed.
  • Environment note: Other automatic fields, such as Created Time and Last Modified Time, are used for different record scenarios.
