How-to Guide

1. Create a Barcode Field

Entry path: Tap a header → Edit → Field Type → Barcode

  1. Tap the header you want to configure.
  2. In the floating toolbar, tap Edit.
  3. In the field editing window, tap Field Type.
  4. Select Barcode.
  5. Set Only allow mobile scanning for input as needed:
    • On: this field only accepts content entered by mobile scanning.
    • Off: this field can accept any content.
  6. Enter the field name.
  7. Tap Confirm to finish.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: a new barcode field appears in the data table.
  • What you can do next: open a record and start entering content in that barcode field.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: if you do not enter header editing first, you cannot change the field type.
  • Environment note: allow camera access first if you plan to use scanning or photo recognition later.

2. Enter Barcode Data

Entry path: Tap the target cell → open the record details → select the barcode field

  1. Tap the target cell to open the record details.
  2. Tap the Barcode field.
  3. Choose the input method you need:
    • Enter the barcode number manually: type the barcode content directly.
    • Live scan: use the phone camera to scan the barcode and enter the content.
    • Photo recognition: take a photo of the barcode and recognize the content.
    • Upload from phone: choose a local barcode image and recognize the content in the image.
  4. Check the recognized or entered result and save the record.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: the barcode field shows the entered barcode content.
  • What you can do next: continue editing other fields or return to the data table to review the record.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: if the barcode image is unclear, the recognition result may need manual checking.
  • Environment note: live scan, photo recognition, and image upload recognition depend on camera or photo access permissions.
