How-to Guide
1. Apply italic from the ribbon button
Entry point: Home tab → Italic button
- Select the cell you want to format, or enter the cell and select part of the text.
- Click the Italic button in the font group on the Home tab.
- Check whether the text now appears in italic style.
- To remove the style, click Italic again.
Success Criteria
- The selected text appears in italic style.
- Clicking the button again returns the text to normal style.

2. Apply italic from the Format Cells dialog
Entry point: Home tab → Font settings arrow → Italic option
- Select the target cell or the text inside the cell.
- Click the font settings arrow on the Home tab.
- In the dialog box, locate the font-related settings.
- Select the italic option and confirm the change.
Success Criteria
- After the dialog closes, the target text appears in italic style.
- Unselected content keeps its original appearance.
