1. Insert a Shape

Entry path: Bottom toolbar > Tools > Insert > Shape

  1. Tap Tools on the bottom toolbar.
  2. Switch to Insert.
  3. Tap Shape.
  4. A default rectangular shape appears in the spreadsheet.
  5. Drag the control points to resize it, and drag the border to move it.

Success Criteria

  • On-screen result: A default rectangular shape appears and can be selected.
  • Next action available: You can continue moving it, typing inside it, or changing its style.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If you do not open the Insert section first, you may not see the Shape button.
  • Environment note: Shapes are floating objects and are not fixed inside cells.

2. Add Text Inside a Shape

Entry path: Double-tap an inserted shape

  1. Double-tap inside the shape to enter text mode.
  2. Type the text you want to show.
  3. Adjust basic font settings and size as needed.
  4. Tap a blank area in the spreadsheet to finish.

Success Criteria

  • On-screen result: The text appears inside the shape.
  • Next action available: You can still select the shape and adjust its position or style.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If you tap only the border once, the shape may be selected instead of entering text mode.

3. Modify Shape Style

Entry path: Select a shape > Bottom toolbar > Tools > Shape

  1. Select the target shape.
  2. Tap Tools on the bottom toolbar.
  3. Open the Shape contextual options.
  4. Choose Rotate Left, Rotate Right, or Delete as needed.
  5. Set Fill Color, Border Color, Border Style, and Border Width as needed.
