This FAQ covers 3 common question types about renaming worksheets in WPS on Windows, including naming limits, duplicate names, and where to find the rename entry.
FAQ
What are the naming limits for a worksheet?
- A worksheet name cannot be longer than 31 characters.
- Do not use characters such as / \ ? * : [ ] in the name.
- After typing the name, press Enter and confirm that the new tab name is displayed correctly.
Why can’t I give two worksheets the same name?
- Worksheets in the same workbook need different names so they can be distinguished clearly.
- If the target name is already used by another worksheet, enter a different name.
- After renaming, check whether the tab at the bottom has updated.
What should I do if I can’t find the Rename command?
- First confirm that you are working in a WPS Spreadsheet file and that worksheet tabs are visible at the bottom.
- You can double-click the tab name directly, or right-click the tab to look for Rename.
- You can also open the Worksheet menu on the Home tab to find the rename entry.
