Will data be lost after merging cells?
- Check whether multiple selected cells contain content before you merge them.
- Keep in mind that only the content in the top-left cell is usually retained after merging.
- If you need to keep all text, make a copy first or use Merge Row/Column Content into One Cell when available.
Does merging cells affect sorting and filtering?
- In a data range that needs sorting or filtering, check whether there are large merged areas first.
- If sorting or filtering behaves unexpectedly, unmerge the related area first.
- After data processing is complete, merge headers or note areas again if needed for layout.
How to merge and split cells in WPS when you cannot find the unmerge option?
- Select the merged cell first.
- Open the Home tab and click the drop-down arrow next to Merge & Center.
- Select Unmerge Cells or another related split option from the menu.
