How-to Guide
1. Hide Rows
Entry: Select row headers → Right-click menu → Hide
- Click the row header you want to hide to select the entire row.
- To select multiple rows, hold
Cmdand continue selecting other row headers. - Right-click within the selected row header area.
- Select Hide.
- The selected rows are hidden, and a double-line marker appears between row headers.
Success Criteria
- Visual result: The target rows are no longer visible.
- Next action available: You can continue editing other visible cells.
- No data loss: The hidden row data remains in the worksheet.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If you select only cells instead of the full row header, the right-click menu may be different.

2. Hide Columns
Entry: Select column headers → Right-click menu → Hide
- Click the column header you want to hide to select the entire column.
- To select multiple columns, hold
Cmdand continue selecting other column headers. - Right-click within the selected column header area.
- Select Hide.
- The selected columns are hidden, and a double-line marker appears between column headers.

3. Unhide
Entry: Select the adjacent rows or columns on both sides of the hidden area → Right-click menu → Unhide
- Find the hidden area marked by a double line.
- To restore hidden rows, select the adjacent row headers on both sides of the hidden rows.
- To restore hidden columns, select the adjacent column headers on both sides of the hidden columns.
- Right-click the selected area.
- Select Unhide.
- The hidden rows or columns appear again.
Success Criteria
- Visual result: The previously hidden rows or columns are visible again.

Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If you select only one side of the hidden area, the target rows or columns may not be restored.
4. Unhide All
Entry: Click the Select All button in the top-left corner → Right-click menu → Unhide
- Click the Select All button at the intersection of row headers and column headers.
- Right-click any row header or column header.
- Select Unhide.
- All hidden rows and columns in the current worksheet are restored.
Success Criteria
- Visual result: All hidden rows and columns in the worksheet are visible again.
- Next action available: You can continue editing, reviewing, or printing the full worksheet.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If the whole worksheet is not selected first, the action applies only to the current selection.
