1. Freeze the first row, first column, or current position

Entry: Bottom toolbar → Tools → View → Freeze Panes

1. Open the spreadsheet you want to review.
2. Tap Tools at the bottom.
3. Open the View tab.
4. Tap Freeze Panes.
5. Choose one of the following options:
   • Current Position to freeze based on the selected cell position.
   • Freeze First Row to keep the top row visible.
   • Freeze First Column to keep the leftmost column visible.
6. Scroll through the sheet and confirm that the frozen area stays in place.

Success Criteria

• Interface result: The frozen row or column remains visible while the rest of the worksheet scrolls.
• What you can do next: You can continue reviewing, editing, or checking other cells.

Tips While Using

• Common mistake: If you want to use Current Position, select the target cell before opening Freeze Panes.

2. Unfreeze panes

Entry: Bottom toolbar → Tools → View → Freeze Panes → Unfreeze Panes

1. Open a spreadsheet that already has frozen panes.
2. Tap Tools at the bottom.
3. Open the View tab.
4. Tap Freeze Panes.
5. Tap Unfreeze Panes.
6. Scroll through the sheet and confirm that all rows and columns move normally again.

• Interface result: Previously fixed rows or columns no longer stay in place while scrolling.
