1. Change the font from the ribbon
Entry path: Home tab → Font drop-down list
- Select the cell whose font you want to change, or select text inside the cell.
- Click the Font drop-down list on the Home tab.
- Choose the font you want, such as SimSun, Microsoft YaHei, or Arial.
- If needed, type the font name directly in the font box to find it faster.
Success Criteria
- The selected content changes to the target font.
- Newly entered text can continue using the current font style.
Tips While Using
- If the target font is not installed in Windows, it may not appear in the list.
- If cloud fonts are involved, the available range may depend on account benefits.
2. Change the font size from the ribbon
Entry path: Home tab → Font Size drop-down list
- Select the cell whose font size you want to change, or select text inside the cell.
- Click the drop-down arrow next to the Font Size box on the Home tab.
- Choose the font size you want from the list.
- To use a custom size, type a value directly in the Font Size box and press Enter.
Success Criteria
- The selected content displays at the entered or selected size.
- The text in the cell becomes visually larger or smaller.
Tips While Using
- Custom font sizes are useful when the preset list does not meet your layout needs.
- If the font size becomes too large, you may also need to adjust row height or column width.
3. Change the font from the right-click menu
Entry path: Right-click menu → Font drop-down list
- Select the cell whose font you want to change, or select text inside the cell.
- Right-click the current selection to open the shortcut menu.
- Find the Font drop-down list in the menu.
- Choose the target font and confirm the result.
Success Criteria
- You can change the font without switching to the top menu.
- The selected text uses the chosen font.

- If the correct content is not selected first, the change may not apply to the intended text.
4. Change the font size from the right-click menu
Entry path: Right-click menu → Font Size drop-down list
- Select the cell whose font size you want to change, or select text inside the cell.
- Right-click the current selection.
- Click the Font Size drop-down list in the shortcut menu.
- Choose the size you want and review the result.
Success Criteria
- The font size of the current selection is updated.

5. Set font and font size in the Format Cells dialog box
Entry path: Home tab → Font Settings arrow icon; or Right-click menu → Format Cells → Font tab
- Select the target cell or text inside it.
- Click the Font Settings arrow icon on the Home tab, or right-click and choose Format Cells.
- In the dialog box, switch to the font-related settings area.
- Choose the font and font size you want.
- Click OK to apply the settings.

- Both the font and font size are updated to the target settings.
- After the dialog box closes, the spreadsheet display matches the settings.

- This method is useful when you want to review multiple font settings together.

6. Use keyboard shortcuts to adjust font size
Entry path: Select content and use the shortcut directly
- Select the cell or text whose font size you want to adjust.
- Press
Ctrl + Shift + >to increase the font size. - Press
Ctrl + Shift + <to decrease the font size. - Repeat until the display reaches the size you want.
