How-to Guide
1. Add Cell Borders
Entry: Home tab → All Borders drop-down
- Select the cell or cell range where you want to add borders.
- Click the All Borders drop-down on the Home tab.
- Select a preset border style, such as All Borders or Outside Borders.
- Check whether the selected range now shows the chosen border style.
Success Criteria
- The selected range displays the border style you chose.
- You can continue editing, formatting, or saving the file.
Tips While Using
- Select the target cells before opening the border menu so the style is applied to the correct range directly.
2. Customize Border Styles
Entry: Home tab → All Borders drop-down → More Borders
- Select the cell or cell range that needs border changes.
- Open the All Borders drop-down menu.
- Select More Borders.
- In the border settings window, choose the line style, color, and border position.
- Click OK to apply the settings.
Success Criteria
- The cell border appears with the selected style.
- The color, line type, or border position has been updated.
Tips While Using
- Membership: Some custom border functions may require WPS Premium.
- Before applying changes, confirm whether you need outside borders, inside borders, or only specific sides.
3. Draw Borders
Entry: Home tab → All Borders drop-down → Draw Border
- Open the border drop-down menu on the Home tab.
- Click Draw Border.
- When the pointer changes to drawing mode, drag across the spreadsheet to add border lines.
- Press Esc when finished to exit drawing mode.
Success Criteria
- New border lines appear where you dragged.
- After exiting the mode, you can continue selecting cells and editing content.
Tips While Using
- Membership: Draw Border is a membership-related feature.
- Confirm the target area before drawing to avoid repeated lines.
4. Clear Cell Borders
Entry: Home tab → All Borders drop-down
- Select the cell or range where you want to remove borders.
- Click the All Borders drop-down menu.
- Select No Border.
- Check whether the existing borders have been removed.
Success Criteria
- The selected range no longer shows the previous borders.
- Cell content remains unchanged.
