1. Set Borders
Entry path: Bottom Tools option → Home tab → Borders area
- Select the cell range where you want to apply borders.
- Tap the Tools option at the bottom.
- Open the Home tab.
- In the Borders area, choose the border type you need, such as outer border, inner border, or all borders.
Success Criteria
- The selected range shows the border effect you chose.
- The table structure is clearer and you can continue editing.
Tips While Using
- Select the target cell range before opening the border menu.
- If the file is read-only, switch it to editable mode first.
2. Customize Borders
Entry path: Bottom Tools option → Home tab → right side of the Borders area → … → More Border Settings
- Select the cell range where you want to edit borders.
- Tap the Tools option at the bottom.
- Open the Home tab.
- Tap the … icon on the right side of the Borders area.
- Tap More Border Settings.
- Adjust the line style and border type as needed.
- Tap Confirm to finish.
Success Criteria
- The selected range uses the updated line style or border type.
- You can return to the sheet and see the customized border effect.
Tips While Using
- Decide whether you want to change outer borders, inner borders, or all borders before opening more settings.
- If the result is hard to see, check the zoom level and confirm that the correct range is selected.
