1. Set Borders
Entry path: Bottom Tools option → Home tab → Borders area
- Select the cell range where you want to apply borders.
- Tap the Tools option at the bottom.
- Select the Home tab.
- In the Borders area, choose a border type such as outer border, inner border, or all borders.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: the selected range shows the border effect you chose.

2. Customize Borders
Entry path: Bottom Tools option → Home tab → right side of the Borders area → … icon → More Border Settings
- Select the cell range where you want to edit borders.
- Tap the Tools option at the bottom.
- Select the Home tab.
- Tap the … icon on the right side of the Borders area.
- Tap More Border Settings.
- Customize the line style, color, and border type.
- Tap Confirm when the settings are finished.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: the selected range shows the updated line style, color, or border combination.
- What you can do next: you can continue editing other formatting or save the spreadsheet directly.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: if you leave the panel before confirming, the selected style may not be applied.
