1. Auto Wrap (Auto-Adjust Row Height)

Entry: Home → Wrap Text

  1. Select the cell that you want to set to auto wrap.
  2. Click the Wrap Text button on the Home tab.
  3. The text in the cell will display across multiple lines based on the column width.
  4. If needed, open the drop-down menu on the right and choose Overflow, Wrap, or Clip.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: Long text in the cell appears on multiple lines or follows the selected display mode.
  • What you can do next: You can continue editing content, adjusting column width, or copying formatting.

Tips While Using

  • After you change the column width, the wrap position may change.
  • Overflow, Wrap, and Clip affect how text is displayed inside the cell.

2. Manual Line Break (Force Line Break)

Entry: Double-click a cell to enter edit mode

  1. Double-click the cell where you want to insert a line break.
  2. Place the cursor at the position where the break is needed.
  3. Press Alt + Enter.
  4. A line break is inserted at that position.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The cell content is split into two or more lines at the selected position.

  • Manual line breaks are useful when you need a fixed break position.

3. Batch Apply Wrap Text

Entry: Home → Wrap Text

  2. Click the Wrap Text button on the Home tab.
  3. The selected cells will use the same wrap setting.
