This FAQ covers 3 common questions about Wrap Text on macOS, including display results, collaboration visibility, and saved line breaks, plus a short glossary.

FAQ

Why does the cell content not display as expected after I turn on Wrap Text?

  1. Confirm that the target cell already has Wrap Text applied.
  2. Check whether the current column is too wide. If needed, reduce the column width so multi-line display becomes more visible.
  3. If you need a fixed break point, use a manual line break instead.
  4. Review the cell display again after the adjustment.

Can other collaborators see the wrap effect that I set?

  1. After the wrap setting is saved, collaborators can usually see the updated display result.
  2. If someone does not see the update right away, ask them to refresh or reopen the spreadsheet.
  3. Check the result again when the network connection is stable.

Will a manual line break stay after I save the file?

  1. Insert the manual line break in the cell and save the current file.
  2. Reopen the file and check the same cell.
  3. If the content still appears on separate lines in the same place, the line break has been kept.
  4. If you want a more consistent layout, combine it with Auto Wrap or column width adjustment.
