How-to Guide

1. Split by Delimiter

Entry: Tools → Data → Split Columns

  1. Select the cell or range that you want to split.
  2. Tap Tools at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Open the Data tab.
  4. Tap Split Columns.
  5. Choose a delimiter type: comma, space, semicolon, or plus sign.
  6. Review the result. The split content is placed in columns to the right of the original cell or range.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The original content is separated into multiple columns on the right.
  • What you can do next: You can continue editing, filtering, saving, or undoing the action.
  • No extra effect: The result is written into the blank columns on the right without creating a new worksheet.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If there is already data on the right side of the target range, check it before running the split.
  • Environment note: Split quality depends on recognizable delimiters, so more consistent source text usually gives cleaner results.
