How-to Guide
1. Split by Delimiter
Entry: Tools → Data → Split Columns
- Select the cell or range that you want to split.
- Tap Tools at the bottom of the screen.
- Open the Data tab.
- Tap Split Columns.
- Choose a delimiter type: comma, space, semicolon, or plus sign.
- Review the result. The split content is placed in columns to the right of the original cell or range.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The original content is separated into multiple columns on the right.
- What you can do next: You can continue editing, filtering, saving, or undoing the action.
- No extra effect: The result is written into the blank columns on the right without creating a new worksheet.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If there is already data on the right side of the target range, check it before running the split.
- Environment note: Split quality depends on recognizable delimiters, so more consistent source text usually gives cleaner results.
