Last updated:July 16, 2026

When using WPS Sort on macOS, common questions usually involve row alignment, collaboration sync, and restoring the previous order; this FAQ includes 3 common questions and a 3-term glossary.

FAQ

What should I do if row relationships look incorrect after sorting?

  1. Make sure you selected the full data range before sorting, instead of only part of one column.
  2. Turn on Data has header row in Custom Sort so the header is not included in the sorted data.
  3. If the sheet contains merged cells, check the structure first and unmerge cells if needed before sorting again.

Will sorting in collaboration mode affect other collaborators?

  1. Yes. Sorting changes the displayed order of the data and syncs that result in the collaborative sheet.
  2. Before sorting, confirm with other collaborators whether the sheet is currently being edited by multiple people.
  3. If you need to roll back the result, use Undo or restore an earlier version from version history.

How can I quickly restore the order before sorting?

  1. If you just finished sorting, use Undo right away to restore the previous order.
  2. If more edits were made afterward, open collaboration records or version history to find a version from before the sort.
  3. Before restoring, confirm which later edits still need to be kept so you do not overwrite newer work from collaborators.
