1. Sort a selected data range from the Tools panel

Entry: Bottom Tools tab → DataAscending or Descending

  1. Select the data range that you want to sort.
  2. Tap the bottom Tools tab.
  3. Tap Data.
  4. In the panel, select Ascending or Descending.
  5. Check whether the selected data has been reordered as expected.
  6. If needed, use Undo to cancel the sort.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The selected data range appears in a new order.
  • Next action available: You can continue editing, reviewing, or saving the spreadsheet.
  • No unwanted effect: The sorted result remains in the current file until you undo it.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If the target range is not selected completely, the result may not match your expectation.
  • Environment note: For collaborative files, confirm that the latest content has synced before sorting.

2. Sort the current column from the floating menu

Entry: Select a column to open the floating menu → Ascending or Descending

  1. Tap the column that you want to sort to open the floating menu.
  2. Select Ascending or Descending from the menu.
  3. Check whether the related data has been reordered.
  4. If the result is not correct, use Undo to restore the previous order.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The data related to the current column is reordered.
  • Next action available: You can continue reviewing the column or editing the spreadsheet.
  • No unwanted effect: The current sort result remains until you undo it.
