1. Turn on Row and Column Shortcuts
Entry: Lower-right status bar → Display Settings → Row and Column Shortcuts
- Open WPS Sheets and go to the worksheet that you want to edit.
- Click Display Settings in the lower-right status bar.
- Find Row and Column Shortcuts in the menu.
- Select this option. After it is turned on, shortcut buttons appear near rows or columns.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: Shortcut buttons appear near row headers or column headers.
- Next action available: You can select a target row or column and continue dragging it.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If you are not in an editable worksheet, the entry or interface change may not be obvious.
2. Move or Replace Rows and Columns Quickly
Entry: The ... shortcut button at the top of a row or column header
- Select the row or column that you want to move or overwrite.
- Check for the green ... shortcut button near the top of the selected row or column.
- Drag the target row or column to the destination. An insertion indicator line appears during the drag.
- If you want to replace existing content instead of inserting, hold Shift while dragging.
- Release the mouse and confirm that the row or column has been moved or replaced as expected.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The target row or column appears in the new position, or replaces content as expected.
- Next action available: You can continue editing, save the file, or adjust other rows and columns.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If you do not hold Shift, the action inserts the moved content and shifts the original content.

3. Turn off Row and Column Shortcuts
Entry: Lower-right status bar → Display Settings → Row and Column Shortcuts
- Click Display Settings in the lower-right status bar.
- Find Row and Column Shortcuts in the menu.
- Clear this option.
- Return to the worksheet and confirm that the shortcut buttons are hidden.
Success Criteria
