1. Turn Reading Mode on or off

Entry point: the Edit Mode / Reading Mode control near the top-right area of the page

1. Open a collaborative spreadsheet.
2. Click the Edit Mode drop-down menu near the top-right area.
3. Select Reading Mode from the menu.
4. After Reading Mode is enabled, you can view the spreadsheet content but cannot operate the sheet for editing.
5. When you need to edit again, switch back to Edit Mode.

What success looks like

• Visual result: the page is in a reading state.
• What you can do next: continue reviewing the spreadsheet and switch back to Edit Mode at any time.
• No direct content change: turning on Reading Mode does not directly modify the spreadsheet content.

Notes

• Common issue: if you do not use the mode switch at the top of the page, the sheet stays in its current mode.
• Environment note: the collaborative spreadsheet page needs to load normally before the mode switch is visible.
