1. Open the Merge Tables entry

Entry path: Data tab → Merge Tables button

  1. Open a WPS Spreadsheet online collaboration document.
  2. Click the Data tab at the top.
  3. Find the Merge Tables button on the right side of the toolbar.
  4. Click the button to view the two commands in the drop-down menu: Merge Tables and Re-merge.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: You can see the Merge Tables button and its drop-down menu.
  • Next action: You can continue with either the first merge or a re-merge.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If you are not in a spreadsheet document, the entry may not appear.
  • Environment note: Keep the network stable in online collaboration scenarios.

2. Merge multiple worksheets for the first time

Entry path: Data tab → Merge Tables button → Merge Tables

  1. Click Merge Tables to open the Merge Worksheets dialog box.
  2. Click the Select... link in the upper-right corner, then choose one or more worksheets in the file picker.
  3. Set the merge options as needed, including Worksheet contains header, Header row count, Remove duplicate rows, Merge to, Indicate data source, and Auto-update data.
  4. Choose to output the result to a New Worksheet or another target location.
  5. Click Start Merge to run the merge.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: A merged result sheet is created.
  • Next action: You can continue reviewing, editing, or saving the merged data.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If source worksheets use very different column structures, the merged result may become misaligned.

3. Re-merge and refresh results

Entry path: Data tab → Merge Tables button → Re-merge

  1. After source worksheet data changes, open the result sheet that you want to refresh.
  2. Click the Merge Tables button on the Data tab.
  3. Select Re-merge from the drop-down menu.
  4. Wait for the result to refresh with the previous merge settings.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The result sheet updates to the latest data state.
  • Next action: You can continue checking the refreshed result without selecting sources and options again.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If the previous merge was not configured correctly, Re-merge will still follow those earlier settings.
  • Environment note: If the source sheets changed a lot, review duplicate rows and header handling again after the refresh.
