How-to Guide

1. Hide rows or columns

Entry: Tools > Home > Rows/Columns > Hide

  1. Open a WPS spreadsheet and select the row number or column label that you want to hide.
  2. Tap Tools at the bottom.
  3. Switch to the Home tab.
  4. Tap Rows/Columns.
  5. Select Hide from the expanded options.
  6. If you want to hide multiple rows or columns at once, long press and drag to select multiple targets before using Hide.

Success Criteria

  • The selected rows or columns are no longer visible in the current worksheet.
  • The row numbers or column labels show a skipped sequence.
  • The original worksheet data remains available for references and calculations.

Tips While Using

  • Select row numbers or column labels instead of only selecting cell content.
  • Before hiding multiple targets, confirm that the full range is selected.
  • Hiding changes the display only and does not delete worksheet data.

2. Manage hidden rows or columns

Entry: Select the adjacent rows or columns on both sides of the hidden area > Tools > Home > Rows/Columns > Manage Hidden Rows/Columns

  1. Select the adjacent rows or columns on both sides of the hidden rows or columns first.
  2. Tap Tools at the bottom.
  3. Switch to the Home tab.
  4. Tap Rows/Columns.
  5. Select Manage Hidden Rows/Columns.
  6. Unhide a single hidden row or column, or unhide all hidden rows or columns as needed.

Success Criteria

  • Hidden rows or columns can be identified from the management entry.
  • After unhiding, the previously hidden content becomes visible again.
  • The worksheet structure and original data order remain consistent after restoration.

Tips While Using

  • Selecting the adjacent rows or columns around the hidden area makes it easier to locate hidden content.
  • If the worksheet contains multiple hidden areas, handle them section by section to avoid mistakes.
  • After unhiding, you can hide the same area again if you need to reorganize the view.
