How-to Index
| No. | Topic | Membership Requirement |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 1. Turn Filter On or Off | Free |
| 2 | 2. Filter by Criteria | Free |
| 3 | 3. Export Filtered Results | WPS Premium |
How-to Guide
1. Turn Filter On or Off
Entry: Method 1 is Tools > Data > Filter. Method 2 is Filter in the floating row and column menu.
- Select the rows and columns you want to filter. It is usually helpful to include the header row.
- Tap Tools at the bottom.
- Open Data and tap Filter.
- When filter arrows appear next to the column headers, Filter is on.
- To turn it off, tap Filter again.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: Filter arrows appear or disappear next to the column headers.
- What you can do next: Tap a filter arrow in any column to open the filter menu.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If the selected range does not include the full header area, the filter range may not match your expectation.
- Environment note: A clear header row makes later column filtering easier.
2. Filter by Criteria
Entry: Tap the filter arrow next to a column header.
- Turn Filter on first.
- Tap the drop-down arrow for the column you want to filter.
- Select a filtering method in the pop-up menu.
- To filter by content, choose Content and select or locate the target values.
- To filter by color, choose Color.
- To filter by rule, choose Condition and set a custom condition.
- Confirm the setting and review the filtered rows.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: Only rows that match the current criteria remain visible.
- What you can do next: You can adjust the criteria, switch filtering methods, or clear the filter.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: Filtering does not delete data. Rows that do not match are only hidden.
- Environment note: Large data sets may take more time to process.
3. Export Filtered Results
Entry: Tap the filter arrow next to a column header.
- Complete the current filter for one or more columns.
- Tap the filter arrow for the column you want to use.
- In the pop-up menu, tap Export.
- Select Export Filtered Results to export the current results to a new document, or select Export Count to count the filtered items.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to finish the action.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: You can see the export result entry or the count result.
- What you can do next: Save the new document or return to the original sheet and adjust the filter criteria.
Tips While Using
- Membership note: This topic is membership-related. Check the membership indicator before use.
- Common mistake: If you export before applying the intended filter, the result may not match your target data.
