How-to Guide
1. Turn on Display Sum and Count
Feature path: Tools → View → Display Sum
- Select the cells or range that you want to calculate and count.
- Tap Tools at the bottom of the screen.
- Open the View tab.
- Turn on Display Sum.
- Check the floating statistics bar at the top of the screen for Sum, Average, Maximum, Minimum, Count, and Numerical Count.
- If you want to reuse a result, tap any statistic to copy it to the clipboard.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: A floating statistics bar appears at the top of the screen.
- Next action available: You can review multiple statistics and tap a result to copy it.
- No unwanted changes: Viewing statistics does not rewrite the original spreadsheet content.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If no cells or range are selected first, the statistics may not appear as expected.
- Data scope: Only valid numeric content participates in Sum, Average, Maximum, and Minimum calculations.
- Result meaning: Count and Numerical Count are different. Count covers cells with content, while Numerical Count covers cells with valid numbers.
2. Turn off Display Sum and Count
Feature path: Tools → View → Display Sum
- Tap Tools at the bottom of the screen.
- Open the View tab.
- Turn off Display Sum.
- Confirm that the floating statistics bar at the top of the screen is hidden.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The floating statistics bar at the top of the screen disappears.
- Next action available: You can continue editing the spreadsheet or select another range.
- No unwanted changes: Turning off the statistics bar does not delete or modify existing data.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If the bar is still visible, confirm that the Display Sum switch is turned off.
- Usage tip: When you need the statistics again, turn the feature back on.
