1. View version history

Entry: Top-right icon → Version History

  1. Open a document that has already been saved to WPS Cloud.
  2. Tap the top-right icon.
  3. Select Version History from the list.
  4. Review the available versions in the version history panel.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: You can see the list of saved versions for the current document.
  • Next action available: You can continue to name, preview, restore, or delete a version.

Tips While Using

  • Environment limit: Files that are not saved to WPS Cloud do not show version history.
  • Network note: Loading the version list requires an internet connection.

2. Name a version

Entry: Top-right icon → Version History → ... icon → Name

  1. Open the document and go to Version History.
  2. Find the version you want to label.
  3. Tap the ... icon next to that version.
  4. Select Name.
  5. Enter the version name.
  6. Tap Confirm to save the name.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The selected version shows the new name.
  • Next action available: You can identify that version more quickly for preview or restore.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: Make sure you selected the correct version before entering a name.

3. Preview a version

Entry: Top-right icon → Version History → ... icon → Preview

  1. Open the document and go to Version History.
  2. Find the version you want to preview.
  3. Tap the ... icon next to that version.
  4. Select Preview.
  5. Review the content of that earlier version.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The selected earlier version opens for review.
  • Next action available: You can decide whether to restore that version.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: Check the version time or name before opening it.

4. Restore a version

Entry: Top-right icon → Version History → ... icon → Restore This Version

  1. Open the document and go to Version History.
  2. Find the version you want to restore.
  3. Tap the ... icon next to that version.
  4. Select Restore This Version.
  5. Wait for the file to return to that selected version.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The current file content changes to the selected earlier version.
  • Next action available: You can continue editing the restored document.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: Preview the version first to reduce the chance of restoring the wrong one.

5. Delete a version

Entry: Top-right icon → Version History → ... icon → Delete Version

  1. Open the document and go to Version History.
  2. Find the version you want to remove.
  3. Tap the ... icon next to that version.
  4. Select Delete Version.
  5. Complete the deletion.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The deleted version no longer appears in the list.
  • Next action available: You can continue managing other versions.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: Confirm that you no longer need the version before deleting it.
