1. Insert a Shape
Entry path: Tools > Insert > Shape
- Tap Tools at the bottom.
- Select the Insert tab.
- Tap Shape.
- Choose the shape and style you want, or tap the freeform drawing button to draw a shape.
Success Criteria
- On-screen result: The selected shape appears in the document, or the freeform drawing is created.
- What you can do next: You can continue moving the shape, editing the document, or deleting the shape.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If you do not open the Insert tab first, you may not see the Shape option.

2. Delete a Shape
Entry path: Select a shape > Delete
- Select the shape you want to remove in the document.
- Tap Delete.
- Depending on the current editing view, you can also delete it from the floating toolbar, the ribbon area, or the Drawing Tools tab under Tools.
Success Criteria
- On-screen result: The selected shape is removed from the document.
- What you can do next: You can insert another shape, continue editing text, or save the document.
- No side effect: Other unselected content remains unchanged.
