Why can’t Format Painter copy some formatting?

  1. Make sure you fully select the source text.
  2. Check whether the action is related to text formatting such as font, size, color, bold, or italic.
  3. If the effect is paragraph-related, review whether it is within the supported scope of the current Format Painter workflow.

What should I do before using Paste Format?

  1. Select text that already has the style you want.
  2. Go to Tools → Home → Format Painter and tap Copy Format.
  3. Then select the target text and use Paste Format.

The text looks different after I clear formatting. What should I do?

  1. This means the original text styling has been removed.
  2. If you want a new consistent style, select standard text and use Copy Format again.
  3. You can also manually set the font, size, or color again from the Home tab.
