What should I do if I forget the protection password?
- First, confirm whether the current document is in collaboration mode.
- If you are the document owner or document manager, try removing protection with that role.
- If you are only a regular collaborator and the password has been forgotten, the protection password cannot be recovered directly.
Will all collaborators be affected after Restrict Editing is turned on?
- After Restrict Editing is turned on in collaboration mode, collaborators are affected by the current document settings.
- If the document is set to read-only, comments only, or revisions only, each collaborator's available actions change with the selected restriction type.
- To return to normal collaborative editing, stop protection and enter the correct password.
How to restrict editing in WPS on Windows with the right restriction type?
- If you only want to prevent changes to the main text, choose No changes (Read only).
- If you want to keep a visible edit history, choose Revisions only.
- If you only want to collect feedback without changing the main text, choose Comments only. If you need form-like fillable areas, choose Only content controls can be edited.
