1. Insert page numbers
Entry point: Tools > Insert > Page Number
- Open the text document that you want to edit and place the cursor in the document editing area.
- Tap Tools at the bottom of the screen.
- Select the Insert tab.
- Tap Page Number.
- In the settings panel, choose where the page number should appear: header or footer.
- Select the alignment: left, center, or right.
- Choose a page-number style, such as 1, 2, 3 or i, ii, iii.
- Set the starting page number if needed.
- Confirm the settings to insert the page numbers.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The selected page numbers appear in the document.
- What you can do next: Continue editing the document, and the page numbers remain visible and update with pagination changes.
- No side effects: If you remove page numbers, all page numbers in the document are removed together.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If you are not in the Insert tab, the Page Number option may not appear.
- Document limitation: The file must be editable.
- Feature limitation: The iOS version does not support a different first page setting in this workflow.
