1. Insert Attachments

Entry: Tools at the bottom → Insert tab → Attachment

  1. Open the Writer document that you want to edit.
  2. Tap Tools at the bottom.
  3. Select the Insert tab.
  4. Tap Attachment.
  5. Choose the file source: Recent, Cloud Drive, or Local.
  6. Select the document file and complete the insertion.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: An attachment icon appears in the current document.
  • What you can do next: You can select the attachment and continue with open or delete actions.

Tips While Using

  • It is recommended to confirm that the selected file is a WPS Writer, Spreadsheet, Presentation, or PDF file.
  • After you insert a large attachment, the main document size will increase.
  • A network connection is needed when you choose a cloud file.

2. Open and View Attachments

Entry: Tap the attachment icon in the document → Open File

  1. Tap the inserted attachment in the document.
  2. Tap Open File.
  3. You can also open it from either of these entries:
    • After selecting the attachment, tap Open File on the floating toolbar.
    • After selecting the attachment, tap Open File in the ribbon area.
  4. Wait for the attachment file to open and review its content.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The attachment file opens normally.
  • What you can do next: You can review the attachment content and return to the main document for continued editing.

Tips While Using

  • If the attachment comes from an online location, a network connection may be needed when opening it.
  • After recipients open the main document, they can also view the saved attachment through the attachment icon.

3. Delete Attachments

Entry: Tap the attachment icon in the document → Delete

  1. Tap the inserted attachment in the document.
  2. Tap Delete.
  3. You can also delete it from any of these entries:
    • After selecting the attachment, tap Delete on the floating toolbar.
    • After selecting the attachment, tap Delete in the ribbon area.
    • Tap Tools at the bottom, open the Drawing Tools tab, and tap Delete.
  4. Confirm that the attachment has been removed from the document.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The attachment icon disappears from the document.
  • What you can do next: The document can continue to be edited and saved.

Tips While Using

  • After an attachment is deleted, the main document no longer keeps that attachment entry.
  • If you need to keep the attachment content, open it and save it separately first.
