How-to Guide
1. Set a Color Background
Entry point: Page tab → Background
- Click the Page tab.
- Click Background.
- Select the color you want from the color background options.
- If you want more preset choices, click More Colors.
- Click the target color to apply it to the entire document.
Success Criteria
- UI state: All pages in the document show the selected background color.
- Next actions: You can continue editing, save the file, or adjust the background color again.
Tips While Using
- The background applies to every page in the document.
- Dark backgrounds may affect readability and may increase printing costs.
2. Set a Custom Color Background
Entry point: Page tab → Background → More Colors → Other Colors
- Click the Page tab, then click Background.
- Click More Colors and then Other Colors.
- Adjust the color with the palette or RGB values.
- Click back in the document body to apply the background color to the entire document.
Success Criteria
- UI state: The document pages show the custom background color.
- Next actions: You can keep editing the color, continue working in the document, or save the file.
Tips While Using
- Before adjusting RGB values, it helps to confirm the target color style first.
- The custom color also applies to the entire document.
3. Set an Image Background
Entry point: Page tab → Background → Image Background
- Click the Page tab.
- Click Image Background.
- Select a local image in the dialog box.
- Confirm the selection to apply the image background to the entire document.
Success Criteria
- UI state: The document pages show the selected image background.
- Next actions: You can continue editing the document or choose another background image.
Tips While Using
- Make sure the image file is available locally before you insert it.
- The image background is cropped adaptively based on paper size, so an image close to the page size usually works better.
4. Remove the Background
Entry point: Page tab → Background → No Page Background
- Click the Page tab.
- Click Background.
- Select No Page Background.
- The document background is cleared.
Success Criteria
- UI state: The pages return to a no-background state.
- Next actions: You can set a new color background, add an image background, or save the document.
Tips While Using
- Clearing the background removes the current page background effect from the whole document.
- In collaboration mode, background changes sync to collaborators.
