How-to Guide
1. Hide a Slide from the Slide Show Tab
Entry: Slide Show tab at the top of the window → Hide Slide
- Select the slide you want to hide in the thumbnail pane on the left.
- Click the Slide Show tab.
- Click Hide Slide.
- Check whether the slide number now shows a strikethrough mark.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The target slide number shows a strikethrough mark.
- You can continue: The slide can still be selected, edited, and saved.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If the target slide is not selected first, the command may affect a different slide than expected.
- Environment note: You need to be in the presentation editing view.
2. Hide a Slide from the Right-Click Menu
Entry: Right-click menu in the slide thumbnail pane → Hide Slide
- Find the target slide in the thumbnail pane on the left.
- Right-click the slide thumbnail.
- Select Hide Slide from the menu.
- Check whether the slide is now hidden.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The target slide number shows a strikethrough mark.
- You can continue: You can repeat the same action for other slides.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If you right-click outside the target thumbnail, the expected menu may not open.
3. Unhide a Slide
Entry: Slide Show tab or the right-click menu command Hide Slide
- Select a slide that is already hidden.
- Click Hide Slide again, or right-click and choose Hide Slide again.
- Check whether the strikethrough mark on the slide number disappears.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The slide number returns to its normal display without a strikethrough mark.
- You can continue: The slide will appear again in later Slide Show playback.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If the hidden slide is not selected, you may not unhide the intended slide.
