1. Add a shape description

Entry: Right-click shape → Format Object

  1. Select the shape that you want to describe.
  2. Right-click the shape.
  3. Select Format Object.
  4. In the Object Properties sidebar on the right, click Size & Properties.
  5. Expand Alt Text.
  6. Enter a title in Title.
  7. Enter descriptive text in Description.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: the title and description you entered are visible in the object properties area.
  • Next action available: you can continue editing, save the file, or switch to another object.

Tips While Using

  • The shape description does not appear directly on the slide canvas.
  • You can fill in the title and description separately as needed.

2. Set a shape description from the side task pane

Entry: Side task pane → Object Properties

  1. Select the shape that you want to describe.
  2. Click the side Object Properties button.
  3. In the Object Properties sidebar, find the alt text settings.
  4. Enter or edit the title and description.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: the current shape description appears in the object properties sidebar.
  • Next action available: you can switch to another shape and repeat the setup.

Tips While Using

  • Select the shape first so the sidebar opens for the current object.
  • To remove the description, clear the title and description fields and save the file.
