This FAQ covers common questions about Add Cloud Document Attachment in WPS on Windows, including insertion modes, access permissions, and file search, with 4 frequent questions and a glossary.
FAQ
What is the difference between inserting a cloud document link and inserting a file copy?
- When you insert a cloud document link, the email contains a link to the document for online viewing or collaboration.
- When you insert a file copy, the document is added as a standard email attachment.
- Choose the link option when recipients should open the document online, and choose the file-copy option when you need to send a fixed file version.
Can recipients edit the cloud document I send?
- First confirm that you sent a cloud document link instead of a file copy.
- Whether recipients can edit the document depends on the existing permissions of that cloud document.
- If the document is view-only, recipients can usually open it but cannot collaborate on edits.
Can I search for files in the cloud document picker?
- Open the From Cloud Documents entry to enter the cloud document picker.
- Type a file name keyword in the search box.
- You can also combine search with categories such as Recent, Starred, My Cloud Documents, or Team Documents to narrow the result.
Why can't I find the From Cloud Documents entry?
- Confirm that you are already in the Compose page.
- Check that you are signed in to your WPS account and that your network connection is working.
- Then review the Attachment drop-down menu in the message editor toolbar.
- If the option still does not appear, update WPS Office and try again.
