1. Insert a Caption

Entry point: References → Insert Caption

  1. Select the object that needs a caption, such as an image, table, or equation.
  2. Click Insert Caption on the References tab.
  3. Choose a label such as Figure, Table, or Equation in the dialog box.
  4. Enter the caption text.
  5. Choose whether the caption appears above or below the selected item.

2. Create a New Caption Label

Entry point: References → Insert Caption → New Label
