How-to Guide
1. Save a File with the Toolbar Button
Entry point: Quick Access Toolbar in the upper-left corner → Save
- Open the text document you are editing.
- Find the Save button in the Quick Access Toolbar at the upper-left corner.
- Click Save to store the current changes.
- If the file has not been named or saved before, choose a save location and complete the save.
Success Criteria
- On-screen result: The current edits are saved, and a file is created if this is the first save.
- What you can do next: Continue editing, close the file, or use Save As.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: Mixing up Save and Save As may overwrite the current file directly.

2. Save a File from the File Menu
Entry point: File → Save
- Open the document you want to save.
- Click File in the upper-left corner.
- Select Save in the File menu.
- If this is the first save, choose the save location and confirm.

3. Use Save As
Entry point: File → Save As
- Click File.
- Select Save As.
- Set the file name and storage path.
- In Save as type, choose the target format, such as .docx, .wps, .pdf, .txt, .dot, .wpt, or .html.
- Click OK to finish saving.
Success Criteria
- On-screen result: A new file copy is created with the selected name, path, or format.

4. Save to Cloud
Entry point: File → Save As → Save to Cloud Document
- Click File, then select Save As.
- Select Save to Cloud Document.
- Choose a cloud folder.
- Click Save to upload the file.
- After that, you can continue using related cloud features such as auto-save, cross-device sync, online collaboration, and version history.
