1. Edit document properties

Entry path: Right-click the file name tab at the top → Properties → Summary

  1. Right-click the file name in the top tab bar.
  2. Click Properties in the shortcut menu.
  3. In the dialog box, open the Summary tab.
  4. Edit the title, subject, author, manager, company, category, keywords, or comments as needed.
  5. Click OK to save the changes.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The Properties window opens and the Summary tab is selected.
  • Next action available: The updated property content is saved to the current document.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: Closing the window without clicking OK will leave the changes unsaved.

2. Add custom properties

Entry path: Right-click the file name tab at the top → Properties → Custom

  1. Right-click the file name in the top tab bar.
  2. Click Properties in the shortcut menu.
  3. In the dialog box, open the Custom tab.
  4. Enter the property name in the Name box.
  5. Enter the property value in the Value box.
  6. Click Add.
  7. Click OK to save.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The custom property appears in the current property list.
  • Next action available: After reopening the window, the added property is still available.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If you enter a name or value but do not click Add, the property will not be added to the list.
