1. Insert a Drop-Down List Content Control

Feature entry: Developer tools → Drop-Down List Content Control

  1. Make sure the current document is already in Design Mode.
  2. Place the cursor where you want to insert the drop-down list.
  3. Click the Drop-Down List Content Control button.
  4. After insertion, the control appears in the document as a configurable drop-down area.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: A configurable drop-down list control appears in the document.
  • What you can do next: You can select the control and continue to configure its properties.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If Design Mode is not enabled first, it may be harder to continue configuring the control.
  • Environment note: Use this feature inside a WPS Writer document with access to the Developer entry.

2. Add Drop-Down Options

Feature entry: Developer tools → Control Properties

  1. Select the drop-down list content control that you inserted.
  2. Click the Control Properties button.
  3. In the properties panel, click Add.
  4. Enter the display name and value for the option.
  5. Repeat as needed until the option list is complete.

  • Interface result: One or more options appear in the control properties.
  • What you can do next: You can continue editing, adding, or organizing the option list.

3. Use the Drop-Down List

Feature entry: Click the drop-down area in the document

  1. After the options are configured, exit Design Mode.
  2. Click the drop-down area to expand the list.
  3. Select the item you need from the preset options.
  4. The selected result is then displayed in the document.
