How-to Guide
1. Add a description to a data table
Entry: Left data table panel → More next to the target data table → Add Description
- Open the target Bitable.
- In the left data table list, find the data table that needs a description.
- Click More next to the data table name, then select Add Description.
- The description area opens in edit mode.
- Enter the text you want, then click OK to save.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: the new description appears below the data table name.
- Next action available: you can open Add Description again to revise the text.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: opening the editor for the wrong table. Check the object name before saving.
- Environment note: you need edit permission for the Bitable.
2. Add a description to a dashboard
Entry: Left object list → More next to the target dashboard → Add Description
- Open the target Bitable.
- In the left panel, find the dashboard that needs a description.
- Click More next to the dashboard name and select Add Description.
- Enter the dashboard description.
- Click OK to save.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: the description appears below the dashboard name.
- Next action available: the description remains visible when you switch to other objects.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: using the description as a temporary note. Keep the text short and clear.
3. Add a description to a view
Entry: Left object list → More next to the target view → Add Description
- Open the target Bitable.
- In the left panel, find the target view.
- Click More next to the view name.
- Select Add Description and enter the text.
- Click OK to save.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: the description appears below the view name.
- Next action available: you can switch views and confirm that the description remains in place.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: not explaining the filter logic clearly. State the purpose or rule of the view directly.
4. Clear an existing description
Entry: More next to the object name → Add Description
- Find the data table, dashboard, or view that already has a description.
- Click More next to that object and select Add Description again.
- Delete the existing description text in the editor.
- Click OK to save.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: the extra description no longer appears below the object name.
- Next action available: you can add a new description again later.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: deleting only part of the text and expecting the description to disappear completely. Clear all text before saving if you want to remove it.
