Success Criteria

  • Interface result: A new number field column appears in the table.
  • Next action available: You can open the field settings panel to adjust format or default value.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: Closing the window before confirming the field name may leave the field uncreated.
  • Environment note: You need permission to edit fields in the current multidimensional table.

2. Set Number Format

Entry: Right-click the field title → Field SettingsFormat

  1. Right-click the number field title.
  2. Select Field Settings.
  3. Find the number format option in the settings panel.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: Numbers in the field are displayed in the selected format.
  • Next action available: You can continue entering or editing values in the field.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: Treating a display-format change as a change to the stored value.
  • Environment note: For percentage-style display, check the meaning of the underlying numeric value as well.

3. Set a Default Value

Entry: Right-click the field title → Field SettingsDefault Value

  1. Right-click the number field title.
  2. Select Field Settings.
  3. Find the Default Value option in the settings panel.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: New records automatically receive the preset value in this field.
  • Next action available: You can still edit the value manually after the record is added.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: Forgetting to review new records after setting a default value.
  • Environment note: The default value is mainly applied when a new record is created; existing records usually need separate review.

4. Turn On the Thousands Separator

Entry: Right-click the field title → Field Settings → thousands separator option

  1. Right-click the number field title.
  2. Select Field Settings.
  3. Find the Show thousands separator option in the settings panel.
  4. Select Show thousands separator.
  5. Save the setting and review the display result.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: Large numbers are displayed with thousands separators.
  • Next action available: You can combine this with decimal-place settings for clearer display.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: Treating the separator as part of the stored numeric content.
  • Environment note: The thousands separator improves readability and does not change the numeric property of the field.
